Helicopter Spins Wildly into Palm Groves at Popular Southern California Shoreline
A helicopter soaring near a crowded southern California coastline suddenly began spiraling out of control, eventually descending rapidly and plunging into a cluster of palm trees as spectators looked on.
Footage posted online show the helicopter beginning to twirl over the shoreline then descending in the direction of the perimeter of the beach, where it gets stuck amidst palm trees and a staircase close to the Pacific Coast highway.
Emergency Response Information
The Huntington Beach fire department reported five individuals were taken to hospital comprising a pair who were in the chopper and were “extracted safely from the crash site” subsequent to the incident on the weekend.
Three people on the street were harmed. Specifics on their injuries were not immediately available.
The reason for the accident was not immediately released.
